There is a lot happening at present with public unrest about greyhound racing. The recent documentation of cruelty to a greyhound (the Tah Bernard incident) is probably just the tip of the iceberg. The industry is unsustainable without taxpayer funding. Do we really want our taxpayer dollars supporting this cruel and unsustainable industry? Is that the sort of society we are happy to be a part of?
If you want to help change the plight of greyhounds, please sign this politically-unaffiliated petition asking the Tasmanian government to end the taxpayer subsidy of the inherently cruel greyhound racing industry. The petition has been initiated and supported by many animal welfare organisations as well as greyhound advocates.
Support and signatures are appreciated. Let's get greyhounds off the track and finally on their way into normal lives integrated with the rest of the dog world.
